Shirley M. Arendt
Shirley M. Arendt, 81, of Aurora, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Rush-Copley Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1921 in Aurora, IL.
Shirley was a member of The Aurora Country Club, where she was an avid golfer and tennis player. As a member of the women's golf team, she was eight time women's golf champion. She was also a founding member of Fox Bend Golf Course. Shirley was past president of the Child Welfare Society, a volunteer at the Rush-Copley Medical Center Gift Shop and a past member of the White Cross Auxiliary.
Survivors include her loving husband, Eugene Arendt of Aurora; two sons, John Arendt of Oswego, IL and Michael ("Peg") Arendt of Montgomery, IL; four grandchildren, James (Andrea) Arendt of Aurora, IL, Alice Arendt of Oswego, IL, Kristin (Brian) Morgan of Millington, TN and Daniel (April) Arendt of Montgomery, IL; three great grandchildren, Kassidi and Mackenna of Millington, TN and Patrick Arendt of Aurora, IL; a special "sister," Geri Meyers of Aurora and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alice (Hankes) Zarth.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY. Interment at Marywood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, 2003 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, April 9, 2003 from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL 60506. (630) 898-8634.
