Son of James L. Adams and Sara Ann Studsill. Husband of Mary Martha Mickler.
Nahunta, Ga., Jan. 17, 1936. Mr. Benjamin Luther Adams, age 81 years died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.C. Strickland at Hortense Saturday evening. Mr. Adams had been sick a few weeks. His going, though not a shock to his relatives and friends, was mourned by them. He had spent a great number of years living at Hortense and those who knew him thought well of him. He was active in the Wesley Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at the Wesley Methodist Church at Hortense Sunday afternoon at three o'clock internment was in the Hortense Cemetery by the side of his wife who died a few years ago.
Mr. Adams was born in Suwanne County, Florida and moved to Brantley County many years ago. Ministers officiating at the services were, Rev. 's H. R. Gumby and Frank H. Harris of Hortense; Rev. B. L. Brown of Nahunta, and H. T. Eason of Hickox.
Surviving Mr. Adams are three daughters and three sons, Mrs. J. C. Strickland of Hortense; Miss. Addie Adams of Jacksonville, and Mrs. B. G. Middleton of Atkinson; Mr. R. A. Adams of Missouri; Messrs A. R. and C. C. Adams of Hortense, Ga.,
Pall bearers were Messrs D. M., E. L., and J. W. Strickland, and C. C. and C. W. Adams, all were grandsons of Mr. Adams. E. L. Darling and Son were funeral directors, in charge.
