Geraldine J. Ahrent, age 89 of West Branch, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. She had lived in West Branch since 1988, formerly of St. Helen. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary of St. Helen, the White Shrine of Houghton Lake and the First United Methodist Church of West Branch. She was a volunteer for the West Branch Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for many years and was awarded volunteer of the year in 2006.
Gerry is survived by her children, Linda Sue (Red) Hendricks of Russellville, KY, Charles (Dorothy) Ahrent of St. Helen and Rick (Michele) Ahrent of West Branch, 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Marylea Vines of Corning, Arkansas, her sister-in-law, Mary Vines of St. Helen and her close friend, Pat Upton of West Branch.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 12-8 p.m. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Stoneback will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or the West Branch Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
