Miss Bessie Hatmaker, died Saturday afternoon at her mother's cottage home. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Henderson of Coal Creek Sunday noon in the Baptist church, after which the remains were laid to rest in Ross Cemetery. She was a modest loving young lady of 19 years of age. Her manners were always aspiring and her face never was darkened with a frown. She has gone to that fair land of peace and happiness to dwell with angels whose builder and maker is God. Miss Bessie had been in feeble health for several months and spent several months at Knoxville and Newport in hopes to regain her strength, but all was in vain. She leaves a mother, four sisters and three brothers to mourn her untimely death.
