Funeral services are planned for 10am Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tim Brewer officiating.
Burial to follow in Harmony Cemetery.
Virgil was born in Harmony, Texas on May 1, 1919, the son of the late Charlie Brittain and Thersea (Pitts) Collins.
He attended Harmony School, and he was a life time self-employed farmer and rancher and a member of Woodmen of the World fraternity.
He was married to Ireen M. Porter and she preceded him in death.
Virgil is survived by two sisters, Raye Bickley and husband, Henry of Bossier City, Louisiana and Faye Cross of Baker, Louisiana. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Terry Collins, David Collins, Kenneth Collins, K. K. Collins, Cody Collins and Charlie Collins.
