Services for Douglas E. Davis, 83, Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Ada, Revs. Jerry Wells, John Haynes, Harold Ware and Dr. Pat Kilby will officiate. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. at Bohannon Cemetery, south of Stuart, Oklahoma. Mr. Davis died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born August 25, 1928 in Ashland, Oklahoma to Arthur E. and Opal Victoria Campbell Davis. He graduated from Ashland High School. He married Ova V. "Tubby" Wood on June 27, 1955 in Ada. Mr. Davis was a carpenter for Ideal Cement, now Holcim retiring after over 40 years of service. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served with the Bus Ministry and also the choir. Mr. Davis served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Tubby Davis, of the home; two sons, Mark Davis of Sulphur and Steve Davis of Indianola; a daughter, Sonja Potts and her husband Kevin, Norman; two grandchildren, Jaime Kliewer and husband J. T. of Cambodia and Preston Craig, Norman; three great grandchildren, Hudson Kliewer, Davis Kliewer and Isobel Kliewer; three brothers, Dale Davis and wife Naomi, El Reno, Glenn Davis and wife Jerry, Dow, and Ronal Davis and wife Shirley, McAlester; numerous nieces and nephews; and a semi-adopted son, Harold Ware of Ada. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Hernandez of McAlester. The family says those who wish may make memorials to the "Douglas Davis Memorial Fund", c/o the First Baptist Church, 521 S.
