Anita was born in North Dakota to John and Berta (Steele) Broecher. She lived in Union Gap for many years, before moving to Reno, Nevada, and then to Chiloquin, Oregon, where she lived with her daughter, Joyce Sauer, for 5 months. She is also survived by another daughter, Lola Putman, of Spokane, Washington, sisters, Ada Gipson, of Yakima, Alice Bales of Aberdeen, and Louella Walker, also of Yakima, Washington, brother, Jim Walkerhouer, of Yakima, WA.
