Dorothy was born in Gas City, Indiana to the late George and Ruby (Bowman) Wheeler and had been a resident of Lafontaine since June of 1988. She was a graduate of Gas City High School and Wayne University Beauty College. She married Alva J. "Bud" Ancil on October 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2008
Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Gas City First Christian Church.
Survivors include daughters, Patti (Rex) Dobson, LaFontaine, Iris Yeager, Marion; son, Mike (Diane) Ancil, Battle Creek, Mich.; grandchildren, Trent Shinholt, Gas City, Amy J. Miller, Indianapolis, Christine Harrington, Anchorage, Alaska, Kelly Zion, Gas City, Susan McGee, Lacey Centeno, both from Anchorage, Alaska, Tracey Carter, Gas City, Christopher Rush, Indianapolis; eight step-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva J. Ancil; parents, George and Ruby Wheeler; sister, Teddy Maynard; son-in-law, Larry Yeager.
