CENTENARY - Mr. Marion Richard Anderson, 92, husband of Ollie Snow Carmichael Anderson, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence after an illness.
Mr. Anderson was born May 10, 1919 in Charleston, a son of the late John Henry Anderson and the late Pauline Garvin Anderson. He retired from CSX Railroad after 41 years of service. Mr. Anderson was a Mason and a member of Centenary Lodge #312. He was a member of the Railroad Men's Club of Florence. Mr. Anderson was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Surviving Mr. Anderson in addition to his wife of 67 years and of the home are a son, Richard (Carole) Anderson of Midlothia, Va.; two daughters, Marcia Anderson of Centenary and Jeanne (Allen) Richardson of Young Harris, Ga.; a sister, Annie Mae Crews of Jacksonville, Fl.; a brother, John H. Anderson, Jr. of Jacksonville; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
Funeral services were held this past Monday, January 2, at Centenary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Virgil Seaber officiating. Burial was in Centenary United Methodist Church Cemetery, services were directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
