Charles Wayne Carvens, 65, of Forsyth, mo.but formerly of Morrisonville died Saturday, May 31, at his residence.
Memorial services for Mr. Cravens are scheduled for Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Taylorville. Reverend Dr. Phillip Icenogle and Reverend Bob Howard will officiate; inurnment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Taylorville. Visitation will begin Thursday at 9 a.m.;an hour prior to the memorial service, at the church. The Sutton Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
A graduate of Morrisonville High School in 1955, he worked for Caterpillar until March of 1989 when he retired after thirty-three years of service. he moved from Morrisonville to Forsyth in 1998.
He was born on October 18,1937, in Taylorville to James and Mamie(Carey) Cravens. He married Phyllis Oller on August 15,1955, in Pocahontas, Ark., and she survives.
also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Roy(Janann) Burris of Decatur, Mrs. Dane(Diana) Pickel and Mrs. Mike (Linda) Lebeter, all of Morrisonville, and Mrs. Dan(Debbie) Skinner of Taylorville; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother; and three sister, Marilyn Spears and Rhonda Hoover,both of Taylorville, and Mary Sergent Of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a member of the Forsyth Methodist Church in Missouri; the family suggests memorials be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Taylorville or to the American Cancer Society.
