"Mitzi" Yamauchi Asato, 100, of Waimea died Nov. 15 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan. 16, 1912, in Lahaina, Maui, she was a waitress, cook and baker at Morikawa Restaurant and a member of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church and Na Kupuna Serenaders and Dancers.
She is survived by daughter, Irene (Jerry) Kubo of Waimea; son, Robert (Sandra) Asato of Honolulu; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
