Mrs. Emma Allison Dead in Columbus
Mrs. Emma J. Allison, formerly of Nashville, died at the Bartholomew County Hospital Sunday morning at 3 o'clock. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She was the widow of George Allison and was eighty-three years of age. For many years the family resided in Nashville. She had been ill for some time and was taken to the hospital about two weeks ago.
Several years ago her two sons, Clarence and Omer Allison, left Nashville and purchased a fruit farm in Bartholomew county. A few years later Mr. and Mrs. Allison, after joining their sons in the neighboring county, purchased a farm. After Mr. Allison died Mrs. Allison moved to East Columbus where she resided until her death.
Surviving are two sons, Omer and Clarence Allison, of Union township, Bartholomew county; four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a brother, William Quick of Bedford. Mrs. Allison was an aunt of George Allison, of The Democrat.
Funeral services were conducted at one o'clock Tuesday morning by Rev. Charles Meyers. Burial was made at the Ohio Ridge cemetery in Bartholomew county.
