The family would like to thank Jack DeVuyst and his family for their years of kindness and care of our father. Also, the staff at Life Time Health on Carter Street for their many years of care, Dr. Fatehehand, and of course, Dr. Megan Twilliger; and most of all, Karen Curtin, NPP, at the VA who was our father's anchor and mentor.
Pour a glass of wine and celebrate Jim's life. A WWII Navy veteran, who was part of D-Day on Utah Beach aboard the USS Laffey DD 724 and then on the Pacific Ocean for several invasions in the Philippine Islands, including Iwo Jima. Jim would often say, "Oh, to feel the pounding deck under my feet again!" He lost his best friend Tony Moda, who he loved till the day he died. He is now with the love of his life, Mary; two best friends, Teddy Bogacz and Robert "Doc" Rouillier.
He was a successful businessman and an avid traveler. His life was full of love, adventure, and devotion to his family. "Darkness is just the absence of light, and every winter passes."
Friends may call MONDAY, 4-7 PM at the funeral home. On TUESDAY, please join the family at Holy Spirit Church (1355 Hatch Rd., Penfield, corner of Plank Rd.) at 12:30 PM for his Funeral Mass.
