William Edward Allen, SR. was born September 12, 1921 in Antlers, Oklahoma to James and Rose Allen. He passed from this life November 11, 2011 in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 90. Ed Allen was born and raised in Antlers, Oklahoma and after several years, returned to the area. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He also assisted in building the very first space shuttle. Ed married Glenna Gibson on October 17, 1942 in Norman, Oklahoma and together they raised three children. He was an elder in the State College Church of Christ in Anaheim, California for forty years. Ed enjoyed fishing, talking about Antlers, and he especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years: Glenna Allen; parents: James & Rose; and a brother: Harold Allen. Graveside Service: 12:00 PM ~ Monday, November 14, 2011 ~ Antlers City Cemetery. Officiating: Remembrances by Sons & Grandsons. Music: Congregational by Friends & Family. Honorary Pallbearers: All the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Interment: Antlers City Cemetery ~ Antlers, Oklahoma.
