James was a graduate of Harvard College in 1669 and became a freeman in May, 1673. He was a preacher in Salem village (now Danvers). "Mrs. Bayly" was admitted to the Salisbury Church on July 20, 1699. He died Jun, 18, 1707 in Roxbury and the widow declined administration of his estate.
