Bernard Baker Sr., 58, Arendtsville, died Wednesday morning at the Martinsburg Veterans Administration Hospital where he had been a patient for a month.
A native of Wagner, Ill., he was the son of the late Joseph and Ida (Collier) Baker. He was a member of Flohr’s Lutheran Church and was employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot for over 20 years, retiring in 1967. He is a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army.
Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Schultz, four children, Bernard Baker, Jr., Arendtsville; Kenneth E Baker, Gardners; Mrs. Connie R. Bucher, Biglerville R.2 and Miss Bonnie Mae Baker, at home; two grandchildren; a brother Willie Baker, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Helen Reed, Peoria, Ill., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with his pastor, Rev. Douglas Y. Boden, officiating. Interment will be at Flohr’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Monahan Funeral Home Friday evening.
