Lawrence R. Abate, 78, Moon Twp, died Fri., Sept. 24, 2010 at home. He was born in Pittsburgh on August 13, 1932 to Frank & Anna Abate. He was a retired US Post Office employee working in the South Hills; U.S. Army veteran; and member of both the Garden Club, McKeesport and the Rose Society. Member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Together for 20+ years, he is survived by his wife, Toni (Lucci) Abate; daughters and sons in-law: Rachelle (John) Cosmides, of Ohio Twp. and Suzanne (Martin) Miller, of Cranberry; son and daughter in-law, Christopher (Carrie) Lucci, Murrysville; six grandchildren: Hans (Sarah), Eric, Mandi, Anna, Adam and Olivia; and sisters: Mary Jane (James), Testa, FL and Marge (Otto) Sculli, Valencia. Predeceased by brothers, Fran & William Abate. Huntsman Funeral Home of Moon Twp. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Twp.
