Lee William Atkins, 76, of Boise, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012.
Lee was born to Chance and Rita Atkins, on November 17, 1935, in Kimberly, Idaho. He married Denise Atkins on June 15, 1967 and has resided in Idaho since.
Lee and Denise were owners of A & L Reforestation Inc. for more than 20 years. As a contractor for the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho and other northwestern states, they were responsible for thinning and replanting thousands of acres of burned and logged timber. He retired in 1993.
Lee's lifetime love of activities included fishing, hunting, as well as taking up golf soon after retirement. He was known for his stubbornness and was never too shy to voice his opinion to friends, family, and strangers alike. Lee had a generous heart and a way of always being there to lend a helping hand.
Lee is survived by his mother, Rita Atkins, of Boise, and three sons, John Ducker, Mike Ducker and Patrick Atkins. He is also survived by four siblings, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Joplin Cemetery in Boise. A celebration of Lee's life will follow at his home from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
