Frank Leo Ahern served as a 1st Lieutenant in Company D, 30th Engineers, United States Army during World War I.

He was a son of Joanna Ahern.

In 1917, he was working as a civil engineer with the Southern Pacific Railroad in New York City.

In 1942, he was working for the National Park Service and living in Washington, DC.

He was originally from Somerville, Massachusetts.

His last place of residence was in Washington, DC.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on July 10, 1967.
