E. C. Baker, 86, lifelong resident of Macon County, died at 2:30 p.m. yesterday at the K. O. H. Hospital in Kirksville, following three weeks illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Bethlehem Church conducted by the Rev. H. L. Rigsby. Burial ill be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Mr. Baker, a retired farmer, was born Nov. 23, 1867 in Macon County, the son of James H. and Hulda Roberts Baker. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hallie Head, Mrs. Thelma Brammer and Mrs. Lois Henry, all of Macon; two sons, Glen Baker of Macon and Carl Baker of Birch Tree, Mo.; two brothers, Milam baker of Excello and Alonzo Baker of Huntsville; 34 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. One daughter and five brothers preceded him in death. The body was taken to the Stephens and Goodding Funeral Home here, where it will lie in state until the funeral hour.
