Raymond Berry, 70, of Blakely, died Sunday at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife is the former Karen Matthews, and they had been married for 47 years.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Peter and Gladys Rafferty Berry, Ray was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Before retirement, he worked at Sandvik Steel.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kim Borowski and her husband, Chuck, Blakely; and Jennifer Swartz and her husband, DJ, Blakely; a son, Kevin Berry and his wife, Jennifer, Roaring Brook Twp.; six grandchildren, Kayla and Kaity Borowski, Ava and Mya Berry and Tyler and Connor Swartz; nieces and nephews.

Ray was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Berry; and a sister, Charlotte.

The funeral will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville, with services by the Rev. Barbara Snyder. Interment will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Peckville, with full military honors.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 until time of service.
