New Bethlehem – Mrs. Alba R. Bowersox, 81, of RD 3 New Bethlehem died Tuesday in the Brookville Hospital following a short illness. Born Dec. 16, 1893 in Curllsville, she was the daughter of Ross and Margaret Morris Cox. She married Henry C. Bowersox of Curllsville Feb. 24, 1915, who preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1973. Mrs. Bowersox was a member of the Oakwood Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Ladies Auxilary of the New Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department. She was also active in community work with the Clarion County Cancer Society, and was a life-long resident of the New Bethlehem area. She is survived by two sons, Thomas M. Bowersox of New Bethlehem RD 3 and Ralph R. Bowersox of Clarion; two daughters Mrs. Helen Edder, and Mrs. Darl (Pearl) Minich, both of New Bethlehem RD 3, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today in the Wayne E. McNaughton Funeral Home in New Bethlehem. Services will be from the Oakwood Presbyterian Church at 2 pm Thursday, with Rev. T. Donald Hamilton, pastor of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Leatherwood Cemetery in Porter Township.
