Mary Louise Berkeley, 91, a minister's wife and church volunteer for many years, died of pneumonia Oct. 5 at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax.
Before moving to Fairfax in 1991, she was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, where her husband was rector of Galilee Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Berkeley was born in Goldsboro, N.C., and attended Salem College. After her marriage, she was active in parishes in Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia. Her parish work usually focused on Christian education.
She attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Burke.
Her husband of 58 years, the Rev. Edmund Berkeley, died in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Berkeley Stoy of Fairfax Station; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
