Mary E. Bronski
Former vice chairwoman of Yarmouth Democrats
SOUTH YARMOUTH - Mary E. (Downing) Bronski of Bass River died Saturday at the Pavilion in Hyannis after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Richard W. Bronski.
Born and educated in Dorchester, Mrs. Bronski attended Bentley School of Accounting and was formerly employed with the Arthur D. Little Co. in Cambridge and Leary Labs in Boston.
She was a resident of Bass River for 43 years and served as vice chairwoman for the Yarmouth Democratic Town Committee.
Mrs. Bronski was a lifelong avid reader, learned to ski at age 53 and became a baseball enthusiast a few years back. She loved to travel and participated in activities ranging from arts and crafts to walking and bicycling. She especially enjoyed the Cape and its many beaches, particularly the National Seashore and Windmill Beach. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was her greatest source of joy and comfort.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mary D. Bronski of Needham and Margaret ''Meg'' Massaro of Harwich; two sons, Kevin M. Bronski of Randolph and John Bronski of Needham; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Morris & O'Connor Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Pius X Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, followed by burial at Chandler Gray Cemetery in West Yarmouth.
