9, died Sunday at Children's Hospital In Boston while awaiting a heart transplant.
Born In Hyannis, Katelynn was raised and educated In West Yarmouth, where she was a third-grader at the M.E. Small School.
She recently served as a spokesperson for the American Heart Association's Cape Cod and Canal American Heart Walk 2003. She enjoyed dancing, singing and arts and crafts, and aspired to be a chef. She loved her two cats and spending time with family and friends. She wished that everyone would become an organ donor.
Survivors include her parents, Matthew C. and Ann M. (Jackson) Bearse; her brother and best friend, Tyler C. Bearse Of West Yarmouth; her paternal grandparents, Roupen and Daune Baker Of Yarmouthport; her maternal grandmother, Katherine C. Jackson Of Marion; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. A funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Pius X Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. Burial is private.
