Louetta W. ADAMEC, 83, of Stockton, Calif., died May 29, 2010 in Stockton.
Louetta was born in Tangier, Okla. on March 23, 1927. Her parents, Rudolph and Martha Fechner Weidner emigrated from Russia in 1907. Their families settled in Oklahoma.
Louetta, her brother, Melvin and her parents moved to Lodi, California in 1937. Louetta graduated from Lodi High School in 1945. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA in 1949. Louetta spent several years in Los Angeles working for MGM studios in their costume design department. She returned home to Lodi in 1951.
She married Joseph Admanec of Stockton in 1952. Her daughter Joetta was born in 1953. At the time of Louetta's retirement, she was Director of Adult Probation for San Joaquin County. She had worked for the County for over 33 years. She was a life long member of the First Congregational Church where she served as a Deacon for several years.
She was also past President of the Stockton Branch of AAUW, the Legal Aid Society of San Joaquin County and the League of Women Voters. She was also a recipient of the Susan B. Anthony Award.
Louetta was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her mother and father, Martha and Rudoph, and her brother, Melvin.
She leaves behind her daughter, Joetta Adamec, son-in-;aw, Per Ostlund, grandaughter, Miriam Adamec-Ostlund and nieces and nephews, Ron, Jay, Mel Jr., Cindy and Martha Lee.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Chapel Service on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 1 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel 601 N. California Street, Stockton, CA. Visitation will be also on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park.
