Gregory A. Alderson , 48, of 880 Valleyview Dr., died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in his home following a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Ascension Lutheran Church, Marion, by the Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Strawberry Point Cemetery, Strawberry Point.

Survivors include four daughters; his mother; two brothers; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Alderson .

Gregory was born Jan. 4, 1959, the son of Ronald and Sharon (Sargent) Alderson , in Manchester. He attended Kirkwood Community College. Gregory served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1984. He worked as a pressman for the Fischer Group. Gregory 's hobbies included a passion for cooking, fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting.

Gregory was a very loving father and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial fund has been established in Gregory 's name.
