John Appel, age 80, a resident of Wisconsin for the past year, and a former 46 year Ingleside, IL resident, died Saturday, December 16, 2000 at the V.A. Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.
    He was born on October 5, 1920 in Chicago, IL to James and Mildred Appel, and had been a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a mechanic for Ziegler Plumbing in Ingleside, IL for 20 years at the time of his retirement, and had been a member of the Plumbers Union.
    Survivors include his former wife, Emma (nee Halla) Appel of Ingleside, IL; his children, Arlene Appel of Genoa City, Wis., John (Christine) Appel of Ringwood, IL, Jerry (Claudia) Appel of Round Lake, IL, Karen (Steve) Marcomb of Ingleside, IL, Gary Appel of Wis., Terry (Karen) Appel of West Miltmore, IL, Linda (Steve) Grischeau of Lake Villa, IL, and Donna (Gary) Duba of Spring Grove, IL, many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive; 4 sisters, Betty Clowe, Bernice Currier, Edie "Honey" Switzer, and Muriel "Mickey" Meyer.
    Friends of the family may call Thursday, December 21, 2000 from 11AM-2PM at the K.K. HAMSHER FUNERAL HOME, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, IL (The chapel On The Lake) where Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00PM on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Lisle Kauffman officiating.
