Seymour, Texas, Oct 3 - R.E. Baskin, 59, president of the Farmers National Bank and a director of the Brazos Valley Conservation District, died following a two week illness.

He was chair of the seventh district bankers' organization and a West Texas Civic Leader.

Survived by his wife; one son - Bob Baskin of Camp Shelby, MS; one daughter - Beth Baskin of University of Texas student; one sister - Daisy Baskin of Seymour; one brother - W.E. Baskin of Lubbock.
