In various official records, Rollan (no middle name) Allen is identified as Rolla, Roland, Rollin Allen. He married four times, but had only one child, Leon H. Allen, who probably died before age 10. Rollan is interred with his fourth wife, Winifred "Winnie" C. Smith in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding, Ionia, MI, US (Find A Grave Memorials 82297623 and 82297627). Winifred was married three times before their marriage.

According to the U.S. Social Security Death Index and his WWII Draft Registration Card, Rollan Allen was born 27 SEP 1888 in Newark Twp, Gratiot, MI, US, and died 12 SEP 1975 in Mercer, KY, US, probably residing at death with Winifred in the Kentucky home of Russell Keith Westwood and Iris E. Reeves Westwood, Winifred's daughter (Find A Grave Memorials 82893466 and 82893486). The 1920, 1930, and 1940 U. S. Census records indicate that Rollan was employed initially as a telephone lineman and later a foreman for a telephone company, the company identified on his draft card as the Union Telephone Co. of Owasso, MI, US.

The 1900 U.S. Census and Michigan Marriages 1868-1925 identify his parents as Leviticus Allen, (1847 - 1928) and Josephine Parker (1868 - 1913) interred with a son John Allen (1894 - 1965) in Ithaca Cemetery, Ithaca, Gratiot, MI, US (Find A Grave Memorials 43628028, 43628029, and 43627904). The 1910 U.S. Census indicates that Rollan Allen is boarding in another Ithaca household and employed as a factory worker.

On 1 JUN 1915, Rollan Allen and Emily Ruth Howard (17 AUG 1896 - 5 Jun 1964) marry in Sanford, Midland, MI, US (Michigan Marriages 1868 - 1925 which identifies his parents and birthplace). They appear in the 1920 U.S. Census for Alma, Gratiot, MI, US with a child Leon H. Allen less than one year old; they are renters and he is employed by a telephone company. No death record has been located for Leon H. Allen, but he does not appear in any subsequent U.S. Census records.

Emily Ruth Howard was married once before this marriage and at least two times after it ended in divorce granted 9 AUG 1921. According to Michigan Marriages 1868 - 1925 she married Walter William James Burge (Find A Grave Memorial 136353977) on 28 Nov 1921 in Corunna, Shiawassee, MI, US, but they must have divorced before his next marriage to Marie Therese Arseneau on 7 Dec 1927 (WISE family genealogy on FamilySearch). A FamilySearch submitted family tree under Emily Howard shows her birth and death dates and places; there is a possibility that she is interred as Emily R. Johnson (Find A Grave Memorial 121859011).

On 10 SEP 1921, Rollan Allen and Blanche E. Leach (1891 - 1936) married in Muir, Ionia, MI, US (Michigan Marriages 1868 - 1925 which identifies his parents, birth place and employment as a telephone foreman and Blanche employed as a school teacher). They appear in the 1930 U.S. Census in Muir, Ionia, MI, US, no children listed. The Michigan Certificate of Death for Blanche Leach Allen indicates her birth date of 12 OCT 1891 and that she died of cancer in Muir on 1 FEB 1936 and is interred in Oakwood Cemetery, Muir, Ionia, MI, US (Find A Grave Memorial 95618384).

On 14 AP{R 1937, Rollan marries Alma R. Nadler, b. 8 DEC 1901, d. 21 JUL 1952, and interred in Hemlock Cemetery, Hemlock, Saginaw, MI, US (Find A Grave Memorial 6694949). Her tombstone inscription includes "Rollan 1888 - 19--" indicating that he had planned to be interred with her at her death. According to their Michigan Marriage license, the 1910 U.S. Census for Richland, Saginaw, MI, US, and her Michigan Certificate of Death, her parents were Carl Nadler and Anna Bohn, German immigrants (the Nadler surname may have been Anglicized) and she was still married at her death in Fremont, Saginaw, MI, US. Another Find a Grave Memorial 73646271 incorrectly indicates her interment in Richland Township Cemetery, Vestaburg, Montcalm, MI, US.

At another unknown date after the death of Alma, Rollan and Winifred marry, and they moved in with Iris Reeves and Keith Westwood while Keith owned a farm implement dealership near Grand Ledge, MI, US. Later they resided in Kentucky and Florida where Iris enjoyed equestrian interests.
