BUTLER — MARGIE I. ABELL, 79, of Butler died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Abell worked for Partee Co. in Spencerville and then for Lectron in Hamilton before retiring in 1996. She attended New Hope Christian Center in Waterloo.
She was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Petersburg to Joseph and Clona (Ficklin) Church. They preceded her in death. She married Eugene Abell on Nov. 27, 1948, in Petersburg. He died March 4, 2005.
Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike and Kathy Abell of Newville, Larry Joe Abell of Newville and Randy Abell of Butler; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Fay and Phillip Fluke of Butler and Sharon and Dennis Bates of Bryan, Ohio; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gary Dean and Peggy Church of Petersburg, Maurice Church of Florida, Danny and Jan Church of Mesa, Ariz., and Julius and Cookie Church of Petersburg; a sister, Midge Harvey of Hazelton; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lena May Church, and four brothers, Wayne, Carlos, Glenn and Leon Church.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Feller Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo. The Rev. Ralph Diehl will officiate. Burial will be in Waterloo Cemetery. Calling will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
