Presley Baker was born 17 Sep 1840 in Liberty twp., Butler co., Ohio and died 21 Aug 1902 in Perry twp., Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. His parents were Ephriam J. Baker and Rebecca (Hawthorn) Baker who brought their family from Butler Co., Ohio to Wabash twp., in May, 1854. Presley's brothers in Perry twp were Clark L. Baker, Orlando Baker, and Dempsey Baker.
Presley served in the 40th Indiana Infantry during the Civil War.
Presley's first wife was Amy Weaver, born 26 Dec 1844 in Liberty Twp, Butler Co., Ohio. They married 14 Oct 1869 in Tippecanoe Co, IN. They had one son, Remus D. She died about 1877.
His second wife was Sophia Fretz Burkhalter, born about 1846 in Bucks Co., PA. They married 03 Feb 1876 in Tippecanoe Co, IN. She died in 1922 and is also buried in Oxford Cemetery.
