Paul A. "Tubby" Beck, 70, a resident of the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Baltimore and Gallitzin, died Monday at the home.
He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Paul J. and Zelma (Diehl) Beck. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carolyn Kennedy, March 6, 1997; a brother, Ralph, Jan. 3, 1992; a sister-in-law, Mary (McMullen) Beck Buntz, Nov. 6, 2008; and a niece, Gretchen Beck, Dec. 30, 2006.
He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Judy (Ron) Lutz of Milton, Fla., David (Doreen) of Cresson, Kevin (Bonnie) of Gallitzin, Brian (Jane) of East Freedom, Meredith (Jack) McCully of Altoona, Gary (Sue) of Eagleville and Aimee (Karl) Langensiepen of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He worked as a tool and die maker for Bethlehem Steel. He attended Gallitzin High School and was a member of the Gallitzin Sportsmen's Club. He was a former member of St. Demetrius Catholic Church, Gallitzin.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, the Rev. Albert Ledoux officiating. Arrangements are by Gibbons Funeral Home, 301 Church St., Gallitzin.
