Grady Baker, 85, of Denair passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Saturday, May 8. He was born in Panama, OK to Jasper and Nora Baker in 1924. Grady was raised in Oklahoma, and at the age of 19 he moved to Dos Palos, CA. He had lived in the Merced/Dos Palos area until he settled in Denair in 1981. In his younger years, he was a bartender. For 50 years, Grady was a cowboy. He managed Ken Morrison Ranch in Denair for many years. He enjoyed horses and rodeos. Most of all, he loved his family.
Grady is survived by his daughter Sandy Sanguinetti, siblings Dona Drake, Orville, Grover and Bill Baker and Elnore Anderson, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Grady was preceded in death by wife Cathy Baker.
A visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, May 13 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be at Dos Palos Cemetery on Friday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m.
