BAKER RITES LARGELY ATTENDED IN KEELER

One of the most largely attended funerals held in Keeler in recent years was that for Howard Baker, 42, prominent Keeler farmer, last Saturday afternoon. Rev. Fox of the Federated church, Dowagiac, officated, and interment was at Keeler cemetery.

Mr. Baker died suddenly of a heart attack at his farm two miles east of Keeler, at 5 o'clock last Wednesday morning. He had been in his usual health until within a few hours of his death.

Mr. Baker is survived by his widow, formerly Miss Florence Spencer of Sister Lakes, a son, Frederick, aged 9, his mother, Mrs. Estelle Donovan of Keeler, and a brothr, Clarence Baker, who operates another of the Baker farms in Keeler. He was a son of the late Fred Baker of Dowagiac.

The Baker brothers were among the most progressive and best known farmers in the township, and the sudden death of Howard was a shock to the entire community.
