CARL ANDERSON, SISTER LAKES, DIES WHILE WIFE VISITS IN SWEDEN
Carl Anderson, 67, well known farm and resort operator near Sister Lakes, died Friday evening at his home just east of the Makyes corners in Keeler township. His death followed an illness of three weeks which developed into meningitis.
His body was removed to a Benton Harbor mortuary and funeral arrangements await the arrival of his wife who has been visiting in Sweden. Mrs. Anderson left soon after the close of the resort season for a visit with relatives in her native land. She sailed from Sweden Saturday. Informed of her husband's illness, which at first was not considered alarming, Mrs. Anderson decided to return earlier than she had planned, but his death occurred before she could effect her departure.
Mr. Anderson was born in Sweden on December 22, 1870, but for many years had been a resident of the Keeler neighborhood where his death occurred. Besides his wife, Ellen, he is survived by eight children, several of whom were at his bedside when death came. They are: Mrs. R. F. Krieg, Shreve, Ohio; Mrs. B. A. Pareira, Chicago; Mrs. frank Foster, Fresno, Calif.; Mrs. Edward Fellmer, Grand Rapids; Mrs. Edward Bear, Jr., Saginaw; Mrs. Charles Spence, Dowagiac; Brookings Anderson, at home; and Robert Anderson, Grand Rapids. Four grandchildren also survive.
