Member of pioneer family
Rhonda K. Blythe, 60, of Alamogordo, died Monday, April 7, 2008, at her home.
Rhonda was born Jan. 8, 1948, in Alamogordo to Denzil and Elizabeth Irene (McNatt) James. She was a member of a pioneer family that came from Texas in 1888 and settled in Cox Canyon. They ranched and farmed in Wills Canyon until the early 1900s when they moved to La Luz. Rhonda was the former owner and operator of Four Waters Restaurant and Motel in Reserve.
Survivors include two daughters, Roxanna Lee James and Carolynn Kelley Hayden, both of Alamogordo; four grandchildren, Lyndsie Rae Sanchez, of Albuquerque, Shawnee Renee Sanchez, of Alamogordo, Keno Kiehnie, of Reserve, and Alex James Hayden, of Alamogordo; a sister, Carolyn James, of Alamogordo.; two nieces, Dorna Orona, of Alamogordo, and Elizabeth Jean Miller, of Albuquerque; and two nephews, James Denzil Aaron, of Alamogordo, and Kenneth Ray Aaron, of Reno, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sadie E. Aaron.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home.
A committal service will be Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Old La Luz Cemetery.
