Mr. Newt Allen Adams, born May 1, 1935, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the TN State Veteran's Home in Humboldt, TN. He was the son of the late Joe and Levy Adams. He was a retired military veteran with 20 years of service to his country. He also served as a TSSAA official for 40 years. His survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Adams; 2 daughters, Susan Truett (Jessie) of Wildersville and Toni Snyder (Andrew) of Fairbury, Nebraska; 3 step-daughters, Becky Cupples (Wade) of Wildersville, Cathy Gurley (Roy Lynn) of Lexington, and Candy Arnold of Wildersville; 1 step-son, William Arnold of Milan; 4 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Tony Adams of Lexington and Jerry Adams (Mary) of Wisconsin; 3 sisters, Mary Ellis (Robert) of Memphis, Joan Pratt (Fred) of Texas, and Janie Hutchinson of Lexington; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Aaron, Billy and Rob; and sisters, Betty Jo and Martha Sellers. He also leaves close friends, Sam and Theresa Estock and Mark Powers. Services will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, October 19 at 3PM with burial to follow in Jones Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers include Jon Morgan, Kevin Cupples, Roy Gurley, William Arnold, Sam Estock, and Mark Powers. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:30AM-9PM and Saturday from 9AM till service. All visitation will be held at Reed's Chapel Funeral Home.
