Mrs. John W. Bauer died at her home in Bridgewater early Friday morning February 8, 1901. She was a sufferer from consumption for over a year which was the direct cause of her death. Jane McCormick was born in Grant county, Wisconsin in 1858 and came to Iowa in 1873. She was married to Mr. Bauer in 1882. She was a consistent member of the Christian church, having united as one of the charter members of the Bridgewater organization in 1888. She will be greatly missed by the church and community for she was one always ready to work in the Masters vineyard. She leaves a husband and three children who mourn the loss of a wife and mother.
