Services for James Lee Anderson, 91, Rusk, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Gary Fitzgerald officiating.

Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 24 in Highland Cemetery at Sparta, Tenn.

Mr. Anderson died Friday afternoon in a Rusk hospital after a brief illness.

He was born April 7, 1897, in Sparta, White County, Tenn. He retired after 40 years' service with Goodyear Tire Co., Akron, Ohio, and had lived in Rusk since 1963.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mae E. Anderson, Rusk; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat Evelyn and Andrew J. Kochman, Sarasoto, Fla.; two brothers, Rufus Anderson and Don Anderson, both of Pikeville, Tenn.; three granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Andrea and Phil Smith, Louisiana, Mo.; Deirdre and Kenny Rockwell, Tallahassee, Fla., and Kendra and Ronny Awsumb, Belleville, Ill.; three step daughters, Bonnye Ivy, Houston; Shirley and husband, David Roberts, Richardson; and Marie and husband, Emmett Whitehead, Rusk; eight great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anderson's first wife, Flora McPeak Anderson, preceded him in death. He was the brother-in-law of the late Dr. Edgar McPeak of Rusk.
