Jessie Marie Annett, 92, of Arthur City passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003 in Chrustus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, in Chicota Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Shupp and the Rev. Bill Sanders officiating. The family will be served lunch at noon Wednesday, July 2, prior to the services, at Chicota Baptist Church. Following the funeral service, burial will be made in Forest Chapel Cemetery with members of the family serving as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 2, 1910, in Chicota, the daughter of Cliff and Addie Pursley Seay. She attended Chicota schools and Paris Junior College. She taught school and retired in 1983 from Optic Electronic Corp. where she worked for 15 years. She was a member of Chicota Baptist Church. On Oct. 28, 1933, she married Marvin Annett in Paris. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1966 and she was also preceded in death by three sons, Wayne Annett, Larry Annett, and Milburn Annett; two sisters, Porta Lee Poole and Virginia Burch; and a brother, Paul Seay. Survivors include sons, Pat Annett of The Colony and Mike Annett of Katy; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchilren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
