Carroll Celdon Alexander, 85, the so (sic) of Fred Ross and Ida J. (Kehler) Alexander, was born March 16, 1917, a (sic) Bladen. He died Sunday at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior.

He grew up with three brothers and one sister and graduated from Bladen High School with the Class of 1935.

He worked as a mechanic in his father's automobile business until he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in Nelson as a mechanic. He later moved to Denver and worked as a mechanic for Chevrolet dealership. In 1938 he purchased Pat Dixon's dealership in Mt. Clare. He married Harriett Bernice Willett on Jan. 20, 1940 in Mankato. On May 1, 1947, he joined his brothers, Les and Fred, as a partner in Alexander Motors, Superior. In 1989 he sold his interest in business to Rick and Fred Alexander and continued to work there as a car salesman. He also drove cars to Salina's Auto auctions, until his death.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Club, Masonic Lodge and the Pleasure Cruisers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice, on Nov. 9, 1969 and two brothers, Leslie and Eugene.

Survivors include his sons, Carroll G., Tucson, Ariz.; Lee, Omaha, Donald, Mankato; and Barry, Superior; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Fred, Superior, and a sister, Mrs. Joe Rundus (Marcella), Las Vegas.

Services are today (Thursday), at 11 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, with the Rev. Art Taylor officiating.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.
