LeRoy Franklin Ahrens, 90, the son of Clarence M. and May (Hahn) Ahrens, was born Aug. 17, 1908, on a farm near Mankato. He died Thursday at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center.
He attended Ruebens Grade School and graduated from Mankato High School. At Mankato July 29, 1928, he married Bernice J. Wyatt. They lived and farmed in Jewell County until retiring and moving to Superior.
At his death, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Country Club and Elks Lodge, all of Superior.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Clara May Knight.
Survivors included his wife of 70 years; one son, Jerry, Superior; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment were Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of arrangements.
