Mrs. Helen Konishi, 97, passed away February 7, 2011 in Garden Grove, CA. She was born July 6, l9l3 in Betteravia, CA. She was raised in the Santa Maria area, attending local schools and graduating from Santa Maria High School in l93l. In l935 she married Chester Konishi. Helen lived most of her life in Santa Maria , moving to Garden Grove in 2002 due to health reasons.
She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Aihara (Henry) of Garden Grove, CA and Alice Lewis (Henry) of Northridge, CA, two sisters, Yoshiko Taketa (Kaz) of Santa Maria and Mary Koga (Mas) of Santa Maria along with 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Chester Konishi who died July 28, 1987.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February l8, 2011, at ll:00 am in the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary Chapel. In honor of her request cremation was held with private inurnment in the Memory Gardens of the Dudley-Hoffman Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Helen's name to the Guadalupe Buddhist Church, l072 Olivera St., Guadalupe, CA 93434.
