Ronald J. Bostick, of Mechanicsburg, surrounded by his loving family, died at home on Easter Monday, April 13, 2009. Ronald was born July 14, 1940 in Glenville, NY, son of the late Robert Johnson and Edna Mae Jackson.
Ron graduated from Saratoga Springs High School (NY) and California State University at San Jose. He served in the US Air Force. His passions included his family, friends, sharing a good laugh, cooking, basketball, golf and traveling.
Mr. Bostick retired as a senior account representative from the 3M Company in 2001. He started his career in law enforcement in northern California. He also worked for the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He worked in various capacities for the North Dakota State government. In retirement, Ron was active in the community through tutoring at Camp Curtain Elementary School in Harrisburg, substitute teaching in Northern York County School District, by serving as a Committee Man for the Cumberland County Democratic Committee, and traveling as a friendship ambassador with the Friendship Force of Greater Harrisburg where he also served on the board of directors. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg.
Surviving are his wife Narvia Riles Bostick; children, Ronique Bostick of Jacksonville, FL; Robyne Bostick of Colorado Springs, CO; Randall Bostick and his wife Tina and their children Amaya and Deven of Chesapeake, VA; Brothers, John Bostick of Orlando, FL; Robert Bostick of Arlington, VA; Sisters, Georgette Smith of Camp Hill; Patricia Canterbury of Sacramento, CA and Gwen Stevenson of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his son Ryan Bostick.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Monday, April 20th at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1 Peter Drive, Mechanicsburg. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
