Alberta Pattie Chambliss of the 29300 block of Delaware Road died Jan. 10, 2000.
Born in Southampton County, Va., she was retired from Barr Brothers and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Boykins.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Chambliss; four daughters, Alice Langston of Suffolk, Brenda Chambliss of Brooklyn, N.Y., Gloria and Renee' Chambliss of Newport News; a foster daughter, Joyce Ralph of Franklin; a brother, Ray Whitehead of Franklin; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. Anthony Ferebee, pastor. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at New Mount Zion Church, 415 Stonewall St., Franklin. The remains will be placed in the church at noon Saturday until the funeral hour. Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc. is in charge.
