Service Held At Fort Cobb
Funeral services for Porter Drywater, 74, of Fort Cobb, who died at his home Wednesday, May 28, were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at the Smith Funeral Chapel at Anadarko. Burial was in the family plot, six miles north of Tahlequah, with rev. Reubin Ahaitty and Rev. Victor Paddlety officiating.
Prayer services were held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 30 at the Smith Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Drywater was born November 6, 1905, in Oaks. He was a retired farmer and rancher who had lived in the Fort Cobb area since 1939 in Cordell.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one stepson, Gerald W. Poolaw Sr., of the home; one adopted son, Stephen P. Drywater, Albuquerque, N.M.; one foster son, Clifford Reeder Redhorn, Oklahoma City; three brothers, Spencer and John Drywater of Tahlequah; Sam Drywater, Jr., Tulsa; one half sister, Sally Jennings, Tahlequah; his step-mother, Sarah Drywater, Tahlequah; and six grandchildren.
