Mrs. Chambers was born in Norwalk, CT and lived in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont. She passed away September 3, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, CA from Asystolic Cardio Respiratory Arrest and Cardiac Amyloidosis.
She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont and went onto Fisher Jr. College where she studied accounting and bookkeeping.
She met her husband Bill in 1971 when she came out to California to visit her sister and her family. They were married on January 22, 1972 in Lyndonville, VT and honeymooned at Niagra Falls on their way back to California.
Mrs. Chambers was very active in many local,civil, and fraternal organizations in her lifetime. She was a 41-year member of the Eastern Star belonging to Evening Star Chapter in Vermont, and Shasta Northern Light in Anderson, CA. She was honored with the Dr. Rob Morris and Chapter Service Awards for her unending help to her chapter. She was also involved with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in California, Modern Woodmen of America, Lewiston Drill Team, Volunteer at Lewiston Elementary School, the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department where she was a pre-911 dispatcher and an EMT, the American Cancer Society and was the Chair of the Fight Back Committee of Trinity County.
She was also a 27-year Independent Avon Sales Representative. She loved being the Avon Lady she made so many friends over the years and worked very hard to go the extra mile to get a special order delivered to a customer.
She had a great love of music and singing she learned in her childhood to play the accoridan, when asthma affected her breathing she took up sign language so she could still participate.
She never worried about herself. Her family was her whole life and world. Friends of hers became part of her extended family and she enjoyed visiting with them face to face or over the phone to celebrate in their joys and grieve with them in their sorrows.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband Bill of Lewiston, daughters Vickie Bellus(Clyde)of Red Bluff, CA. Zoe A of Lewiston, CA, and Maxine Hileman (Kenny) of Cedarville, CA; grandchildren Charity Lee and Delbert William Bellus of Red Bluff and Ashely Ray Chambers Hileman of Cedarville. She also had two four-legged grandchildren whom she loved Lady Dog and Rebel Boy of Lewiston. Mother-in-Law Maxine Chambers of Lewiston, and her sister Helen Martin (Roland) of Cortland, NY.
Mrs. Chambers was preceeded in death by her parents Albert T and Evelyn M Hoffecker, and her beautiful 5-day old Grandson Heydn Joseph Hileman of Cedarville.
