Millie Sallie Bailey
(April 1, 1918 - June 2, 2008)

Tahlequah, OK Funeral services for Millie Sallie Bailey, age 90, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at the Blue Springs Baptist Church in Gideon, OK. Interment will follow services at Blue Springs Cemetery. The care of Millie and her family has been entrusted to Hart Funeral Home of Tahlequah.

Millie Sallie Johnson Bailey passed away on June 2, 2008, surrounded by her loving family in her own home. Born on April 1, 1918, Millie was the youngest daughter and 5th child of John Jackson "Jack" Johnson and Eva May Johnson. She married William O. "Bill" Bailey on December 22, 1935. They were married almost 70 years before his death in 2005.

Millie and Bill raised two children, Gale Bailey West and Billy J. Bailey, living most of their lives on a farm in the Gideon community. They were doting grandparents and shared special relationships with their grand daughters: Kaylin Martindale Coody and husband Reed, Carolyn Martindale Bannister and husband Mike, Jacquelin Bailey Rackliff , Pamela Martindale Harris and husband Lance, Jennifer Bailey Maslen and husband George, and Kendra Bailey. Also, two grandsons: Keith Martindale and wife Melissa, and T.J. Bailey. In addition to these eight grandchildren, Millie has eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her mother and father, as well as her brothers Hubert Johnson, Ralph Johnson and R.J. Johnson, and her sister, Dorothy Johnson Powell.

Millie leaves behind her daughter Gale and son-in-law, Bill West; her son, "Billy J" and daughter-in-law Eulaine Bailey; her younger brother John J. Johnson, Jr., many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Millie loved animals, babies, flowers, quilting and sewing and being with her family and friends. She laughed often and loved the Lord. Her sense of humor and feisty spirit and spunk will be missed, but always remembered.
