Son of Polk McAlvain and Mary Choate McAlvain.

He travelled many miles as Freewill Baptist Evangelist and started many a Freewill Baptist church in his lifetime.

He was orginally buried at Berryville, Arkansas, but his remains were moved to Kennedy as this had been his wish expressed while he lived.
